| Air Jordan Shoes XVI (16)
Wilson Smith III probably felt like Pete Myers, who was asked to start at the beginning of the 1993-1994 season in place of the since departed MJ. Smith was taking over the design lead in place of Tinker Hatfield, which was quite a task. Thankfully, he stepped right up and delivered, as the XVI’s simple elegance and commendable on-court performance made for a great transition to Jordan’s post-retirement line of footwear. We saw the return of a patent leather toe, as well as visible Nike Air at the heel. And though the XVI only released in four mid-top colorways, it’s safe to say the XVI was an overall success and the Jordan Brand would be in good hands for years to come. |
